Performers on stage at Stone FeteWe are the local council for over 13,000 residents in Stone, Dartford, Kent, consisting of 12 council members and a similar-sized workforce, we are an active and hard-working team that strives to improve the quality of the local area.

We provide a host of community-level services such as venues for hire, activities for youth and seniors, maintenance of over 50 acres of public realm, parks, gardens and allotments, and community events.

We are currently at an exciting time, having recently adopted an ambitious Strategic Plan for 2021-24 that will see us deliver new facilities and infrastructure improvements, as well as tackle environmental concerns.

Our Ethical and Unbiased Recruitment Process

In place of CV’s, we have instated application forms that ask relevant questions to initially assess candidate’s skills and suitability based on their response. This ensures we cannot be biased regarding characteristics such as appearance, ethnicity or age, and educational attainment and previous employment, which are poor predictors of ability anyway.

New Job Vacancy – Receptionist/Administrator

This role will provide front of house reception cover at Stone Pavilion as well as administration support for services at Stone Pavilion and The Claire Tiltman Centre.  

This is a full-time permanent position for 37 hours per week. 

 The first stage of the recruitment process requires completion of an application form to assess skills and suitability.  

Responses to these initial questions are reviewed to enable comparison of candidates, against pre-determined scoring criteria to accurately record results. This is repeated for all questions to enable an overall score for each candidate to inform the shortlisting outcome.  

 Following shortlisting, we may use individual and group assessments (as necessary) to observe how candidates respond to tasks and structured final interviews to confirm alignment with the council’s mission and values.
