Lucy CanhamLucy Canham was elected as the new chairman as Keith Kelly took the decision to not seek re-election due to ongoing work commitments. Stephanie Thredgle was re-elected to continue serving as council vice-chairman.

Lucy has lived in Stone for 20 years and is married with two daughters. She is the Financial Officer for Mary’s Child, and also runs her own book-keeping service. In her spare time she enjoys walking and cycling and fully appreciates the local green spaces of the parish, often taking part in local litter-picks and meeting members of the community.

Councillor Canham expressed her thanks to the council for her election and said “I am looking forward to representing the council as chairman and have assumed the role at an exciting time, particularly with the official opening of the Claire Tiltman Centre (in Cotton Lane) and installation of a new playground at Stone Recreation Ground planned for 2021, as well as implementation of the 3-year Strategic Plan. I would like to thank Councillor Kelly for his service over the last 10 months and am pleased that he will continue to serve as the councillor for Castle Ward.”

The next council meeting will be held on Wednesday 21st July at 7pm. Links for the public to join council meetings are posted on the council’s website.
