New Electric Vehicle Charging Point for Stone Pavilion

With the Parish Council’s forthcoming strategic plan set to improve environmental benefits in the Parish, members recently approved to apply for Kent County Council grants towards Electric Vehicle Charging Points.

With concurrent news the Prime Minister’s green plan will ban any new petrol and diesel cars in the UK from 2030, electric vehicles will inevitably become more common. Supporting the use and enabling the required infrastructure is also a feature of the Stone Parish Neighbourhood Plan.

This grant will enable an electric vehicle charging point to be installed at Stone Pavilion, with another set to be installed at the Claire Tiltman Centre on Cotton Lane, which is due to open its doors next summer.

The council is currently looking into other measures and forms of green technology that might assist in reducing the carbon footprint of council operations.
