Stone Parish Council has awarded £1,000 to the Mary’s Child food bank in a bid to provide support to local families during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Alongside the recent launch of a dedicated parish support page for Covid-19, to enable local residents to volunteer or provide details of people in need, the council is keen to support groups playing an active role in helping the community during these challenging times.

A further £40 donation has been kindly provided by the Gravesend & Dartford Friendship Club.

As a result of recent panic-buying and families being hit financially if unable to work during the current lockdown, the food bank has seen an increased demand for its service.

For those that are able, please consider making donations to the parish pantry of any of the following items:

  • tinned meat
  • tinned potatoes
  • tinned vegetables
  • tinned fish
  • pasta with sauces
  • beans
  • soups
  • baby milk
  • toiletries

Food can be dropped off at The Rectory (in front of Stone St Mary’s Church), Church Road, Stone Village, DA9 9BE
