01/02/22CL: To elect a Committee Chairman for 2021-22

The Chairman will ask for nominations for election of the Chairman of the Recreation & Facilities Committee.

If there is more than one nomination, a vote will commence by a show of hands in the order in which persons have been nominated.

The Chairman will then declare the successful nominee to be the duly elected Chairman of the Recreation & Facilities Committee.

To receive apologies for absence.

3 – 03/02/22CL: Disclosure of Pecuniary Interests

To receive disclosure of any pecuniary interests relating to meeting agenda items.

Having declared an interest, a member must not participate in discussion on the matter and must not take part in any vote unless an appropriate dispensation has been granted.

Relevant Legislation: Localism Act 2011, s 31.

4 – 04/02/22CL: To elect a Committee Vice Chairman for 2021-22

The Chairman will ask for nominations for election of Vice-Chairman of the Recreation & Facilities Committee.

If there is more than one nomination, a vote will commence by a show of hands in the order in which persons have been nominated.The Chairman will then declare the successful nominee to be duly elected Vice-Chairman of the Recreation & Facilities Committee.

5 – 05/02/22CL: Public Participation

The council meets and makes its decisions in public. A council meeting is not a public meeting. It is a meeting held in public and there is no requirement in law which allows members of the public to speak at such meetings.

However, the council is is keen to encourage public attendance at meetings and will therefore provide an opportunity to local registered electors to show it is committed to community engagement.

A maximum of 3 minutes is allowed per person to speak and the total length of time afforded for public participation at each meeting shall be no more than 15 minutes, subject to an extension of this time, in exceptional circumstances, being agreed by the Chairman.

Relevant Legislation: Local Government Act, s 100.

To approve the minutes of the meeting of the Recreation & Facilities Committee held Wednesday 15 January 2020.

8 – 07/02/22CL: Easter Activities

To discuss proposals for the Easter Egg Activites on Stone Recreation Ground.

Members are presented with a proposal for activities for the Easter Egg Activity event.

9 – 08/02/22CL: Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

To discuss options for events and activities to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Members are presented with several ideas for events and activities to mark the jubilee celebrations.

11 – 09/02/22CL: To receive an update on The Claire Tiltman Centre

The Brent 6th Scout groups have now started meeting at the centre so the hall is in use every week night and some weekends.
Plans are being developed by Council staff to determine the best use(s) of the facility and a pricing structure for hire. Talks are also underway with a photographer for a 360 tour of the facility to allow people to see the hall virtually.
As we have had several groups show interest in the Centre, a form has been developed to gauge the level of interest and types of activities that could take place.
