Please find attached the ‘Preliminary Layout’ and ‘Item Elevation’ drawings. The design could change depending on site specific issues and requirements as the site passes through the planning process, it is possible the battery’s could be placed in single line to minimise the loss of any trees/bushes. The function of the site is to provide back up power and frequency response to the local electricity 11kV network. This kind of battery storage is essential to ensure the energy security of the area with increasing demand and the fluctuation of power generation offered by renewable sources such as solar pv and wind turbines. This kind of energy storage facility is essential for the UK to achieve ‘Net Zero’.
